Riding through the vineyards and the trails of Chianti

Castellina in Chianti in San Casciano Val di Pesa. A hike suitable for all wine lovers, nature and mountain biking. A dive in history to know Tuscany, its natural beauty and landscape, its historic and artistic heritage and its culinary excellence.

In the heart of Chianti is a route particularly suited to fans of slow tourism and outdoors. But it is also a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in history. Following the trails of Chianti we will stop in millennial churches and castles that tell the story of Tuscany, from the fall of the Roman Empire to the Renaissance period. A past that lives through the beauty of places and the quality of the great wines of this territory.

A path of rare beauty in the heart of the Chianti Classico from the slope of Castellina in Chianti with alternating climbs to descents, with funds flowing. Challenging slopes but ridable, featuring a path that will allow us in the first day bike to conquer the hills of Chianti at 892 meters .sl, starting from the Etruscan necropolis of Fonterutoli passing through the province of Siena, Florence, from the west side to the east Chianti. A route that part of the lands that give rise to the rivers Pesa and Greve, to reach those that led to the Ema, then cross again Arbia that 'turned red' in the famous battle of Montaperti between Guelphs and Ghibellines . A superb way to learn about the natural wealth and landscape of the area. The second day of the tour makes us migrate to an area of elegant and noble flavor. Heading towards San Casciano Val di Pesa we breathe the air of Florence its Renaissance spirit. The route starts from Badia a Passignano and culminates with the Villa Cigliano, extraordinary example of architecture of the '500. The route runs from the eastern side of the valley in which runs the Greve to the western side where the slides Pesa in a way that offers a view of the Montalbano, the Apennines and the Apuan Alps. A beautiful journey that allows you to understand the identity of Chianti wine and a land of a thousand faces and the unforgettable flavors.
