Woods, parish churches and castles
An area that hide a thousand treasures bound to history, culture and landscape

Woods, parish churches and castles among ancient hamlets, legends and magic.

Hidden amongst the woods and vineyards, along historic roads and secondary routes, the areas of our tours hide a thousand treasures bound to history, culture and landscape. It will be possible to go deep into the Nature reserve of Sant’Agnese, unique example in Italy of a natural cypress tree wood but also to climb Monte San Michele (880 metres) with its views and spectacular paths. The hidden pearls are numerous: from the fortified hamlet of Volpaia (XI century) still at the centre of a complex rural activity, to that of Badia a Passignano, born around an abbey, to the Renaissance premises of Villa di Cigliano. From the parish church of Sant’Agnese, standing within the nature reserve of the same name, to the enchanting and magical church of St. Pietro a Cedda, to the many castles which are there giving testimony of ancient battles. From those of undisputed fame such as the castle of Fonterutoli to other lesser known ones but of equal allure such as the castle of Monternano and that of Strozzavolpe wrapped in its legend.
